Obama Stimulus Grants

The stimulus bill has kicked in now and there has been a mad rush by businesses and local governments to get in on the action. If you go to Recovery.org you can see the website that has been set up to show the general public how the money is being spent. It only takes a couple minutes on the site to see what a massive undertaking this all is and to see the amount of bureaucracy that is involved.

Most of the money that is available is set aside for struggling businesses and local governments. How you qualify for a loan or grant is quite involved and it takes someone who is quite determined to be able to sift through all the forms and conditions and actually get one.

The stimulus bill has been in the news now for quite a long time and everyone has heard the mammoth numbers being thrown around. This is the largest chunk of taxpayer's money that has ever been up for grabs. These daily news stories about stimulus money has made many individual citizens hopeful that they can get their hands on some of this money too.

The stimulus bill is huge but very little of that money is set aside for the normal joe. If you are a major company like Ford you will be able to get your share but if your name is Beth Ford from St. Louis, your chances of landing some of that money is slim.

The reality is that most normal people just don't have the skills to learn how to apply for stimulus grant money on their own. There are tons of qualifications and just like everything the government gets involved in, it is a maze of paperwork. That, in addition to there being little money allotted to the general public, makes getting Obama Stimulus Grants very unlikely for Normal Joe.

One thing that not everyone knows is that grants from the US government are free. That means you don't have to pay to apply for them and many people think you do. Earlier this year the FTC had to crack down on misleading ads on the Internet which had Obama's likeness and wanted to charge people for helping them get grants.

One of the problems with the grant process is that it is confusing. Everyone has heard about and deals with home loans, car loans and things like that but not much is really known about government grants. Most people have no idea how to go about getting one or what they would have to do to qualify for one.

This has mae it easy for companies to come in and charge for the service of making it all more simple. Most of these companies make it sound like if you go with them, you will get your grant. However, this is impossible to promise because just filling out the paperwork and applying does not mean you will get your grant. It might be legitimate to charge for the service of filling out the paperwork and forms for the grant process but that is all a company can really promise.
